About
Miranda July is an American filmmaker, artist and writer whose work speaks to the human desire for connectedness. From early beginnings in performance and video art, Miranda July has gone on to write, direct and feature in short, documentary and feature films and has created sculptural and web-based artworks in collaboration with members of the public. She has worked with several major institutions including the American Cinémathèque and the Venice Biennale and is also a New York Times bestselling author.
From July's ground breaking debut feature, Me and You and Everyone We Know 2005, to her latest critically acclaimed comedy-heist, Kajillionaire 2020, the films included in this program reflect on July’s unique ability to create intimate portraits of quiet and deeply personal moments that engage with broader themes of love, longing and togetherness.
