About
Madeline’s Madeline, a bold American indie starring Miranda July and Molly Parker, weaves a beguiling thread of uncertainty and wonder throughout its story.
Talented teenager Madeline (incredible newcomer Helena Howard) regularly attends a physical theatre group, managing her mental health issues through her passion for acting, which balances improvisation and intense emotional immersion. Her complicated relationships with her insecure theatre director (Molly Parker) and her paranoid mother (Miranda July) create a kaleidoscope of blurred perceptions between truth and imagination. Premiering at Sundance Film Festival 2018, Madeline’s Madeline is a personal and boldly expressionistic film by director Josephine Decker.
