L.A. Tea Time 2019 Ages 15+
When
2.45 pm, Sun 4 Jul 2021 (91 mins)About
In this exploratory take on the indie road trip documentary, up-and-coming Québécoise filmmaker, Sophie Bédard Marcotte, embarks on a quest along America’s iconic Route 66 in the hope of having afternoon tea in Los Angeles with Miranda July.
Partnered with cinematographer Isabelle Statchtchenko, and inspired (quite literally) by the voice of Chantal Akerman, Marcotte’s endeavour reaches far beyond her adoration of Miranda July and instead, offers a genuine commentary on the challenges faced by young female filmmakers attempting to break into the industry.
