Conventional newly-wed couple Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon), stranded with a flat tyre during a storm, stumble upon the spooky mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry), a transvestite scientist, as well as a household full of eccentric characters and oddities. Through a plethora of arousing songs and dances, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation to the unsuspecting pair: the muscular hunk Rocky.
