1878, New Caledonia. As a bloody battle rages, a missionary catches sight of a little Kanak girl. What if he could save her?

The singer Mayura, accompanied by a wise old Kanak and guided by little elves, ventures into the forest on an esoteric journey to discover the spirit tree: the Banyan.

Zerbina, a young Kanak woman living in Noumea, is realising her dream of becoming a hip-hop dancer. But her father, the clan chief, forces her to return to the tribe to discuss an entirely different future.
