About
The canals of Venice are replaced by a smoky London jazz club in this loose adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello. Patrick McGoohan (creator and star of the cult British TV show The Prisoner leads as Johnnie Cousin, a jazz drummer attempting to start a new band. Johnnie soon morphs into a scheming Iago when his contract offer to a singer is rejected and he decides to destroy her marriage in retaliation. The film features appearances and performances from major 1960s jazz figures, including Dave Brubeck, Charles Mingus, and Tubby Hayes. Progressive, stylish, and snare drum tight, All Night Long remains both a fresh interpretation of an oft-adapted tale as well as a fascinating time capsule of 1960s allure
