7.30pm – 8.30pm Wed 5, 12, 19 & 26 Aug Interested in increasing the visibility of women on the world’s most popular online research tool, but don’t know where to start? The Art+Feminism Wikipedia edit-a-thon is a global event that addresses the under-representation of women, feminism and the arts on Wikipedia. Across four virtual sessions in August, join Dr Louise R Mayhew for a special Wikipedia editing circle. You will be guided through the process of selecting a woman artist, researching and writing their biography, and honouring their career by publishing your article on Wikipedia. Meet with other editors to share discoveries, and chat about tips, tricks, hurdles and solutions. The Wikipedia Editing Circle is for everyone - novices to experts. Free, bookings required. Each session will build upon the next, bookings are inclusive of all four sessions. Please note this live online event involves interacting with strangers via moderated conversations. In order to be eligible to participate, attendees must have their web cam turned on. This program will be moderated by QAGOMA staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all attendees.
