Together the Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) and Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) are home to ever-changing exhibitions, immersive cultural experiences and a rich collection of art from diverse cultures across Australia and around the world.
Located riverside across two architecturally-acclaimed buildings in the Queensland Cultural Centre, QAGOMA is a short walk from the city and adjacent to South Bank and welcomes visitors of all ages, interests and abilities.
Queensland Art Gallery was established in 1895 and moved to its current residence at South Brisbane in 1982. QAG is home to our permanent Australian, Asian and International Art collections, bringing together art from different times and across cultures.
Our second site, the Gallery of Modern Art, opened in 2006 with both expansive and intimate spaces to house exceptional contemporary art. GOMA is home to the Children's Art Centre, presenting interactive artworks for kids and families, and a cinema that celebrates film from around the world.

Our two galleries are a short walk from the city and adjacent to South Bank Parklands, and only 150 metres apart. QAG's riverfront entry is near Melbourne St and Victoria Bridge, and both buildings have an entrance from Stanley Place.
Entry to QAGOMA is free.
This includes most exhibitions, screenings and programs. Some exhibitions and special events have an entry fee and tickets can be purchased online or onsite at the ticket desk. Entry to the Children's Art Centre is always free.

Gallery open from 5.30pm Wednesday and Friday nights for free and paid films. Cinema doors open 15 minutes prior to the screening. During paid programs, the Box office is open for ticket sales and refreshments 1 hour prior on Saturday and Sunday, 30 mins prior on Wednesday and Friday nights.

Volunteer guides offer free guided tours in QAG and GOMA on most days. Tours last about 40 minutes and focus on exhibitions or collection displays. Check the Events Calendar for tour times.
Booked community groups of 10 or more people can request a guided tour. A minimum of 15 days’ booking notice is required and tours are subject to availability.

This self guided activity is designed for people of all ages. Drawing stations offering free materials are located in Gallery 5, Gallery 7 and Gallery 11 at the Queensland Art Gallery during opening hours.
