‘Embodied Knowledge: Queensland Contemporary Art’ is a showcase of recent and commissioned artworks by artists with a close connection to Queensland.
The exhibition explores a range of themes and offers a snapshot of Queensland’s artistic landscape. Many works respond to the nature and character of Queensland or challenge its accepted social and historical narratives. Other works explore the way in which human bodies have both a fixed and a fluid location in space, and how bodies of knowledge — systems and language — are expressed and find wider circulation.
