In 2014, the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art Children's Art Centre presented the interactive exhibition 'Jemima Wyman: Pattern Bandits' (05 April – 02 November 2014). Following the success of this exhibition, the Children's Art Centre has developed a program for children and families across local regional and remote Queensland communities.
The 'Pattern Bandits on Tour' program will comprise of a range of activities, developed especially for children and family audiences by contemporary Australian artist Jemima Wyman in collaboration with the Gallery, enabling Queensland communities to enjoy key elements of the original exhibition at their local venue.
'Pattern Bandits on Tour' introduces young visitors to Jemima Wyman's exciting art practice and encourages them to explore different patterns, from kaleidoscopes and tessellations to camouflage, dazzle and harlequin, with specially designed hands-on and multimedia interactive activities.
