Kangaroo Crew On Tour

About
Queensland Indigenous communities can participate in 'Kangaroo Crew on Tour', a program which provides venues in regional and remote Queensland to take hold of innovative, hands-on workshops for children and families in their local community.
The On Tour program is drawn from 'Kangaroo Crew', the QAGOMA Children's Art Centre exhibition currently on display in Brisbane. 'Kangaroo Crew' has been developed in collaboration with contemporary Indigenous Australian artist Gordon Hookey, from the Waanyi people.
The program is based on an insightful narrative, 'The Sacred Hill', created especially for children by the artist and explored through hands-on and multimedia interactives, and a story book published by the Children's Art Centre, illustrated with more than 20 paintings by Gordon Hookey.
'Kangaroo Crew on Tour' is held in conjunction with 'Kangaroo Crew', an exhibition for children organised by QAGOMA's Children's Art Centre and held at the Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane, 1 June 2013 - 27 January 2014.
This project has received financial assistance from the Queensland Government through the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Multicultural Affairs.
