2014 Glencore Regional Touring Workshop Program
When
13 Oct – 3 Nov 2014
About
Glencore are offering regional Queensland students the opportunity to participate in a workshop facilitated by artist Sue Loveday at selected regional venues during October and November 2014 to coincide with the exhibition 'Madonna Staunton: Out of a Clear Blue Sky' at the Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane.
Inspired by the work of Madonna Staunton, students will create found-word and object compositions which they will then transform into stop-motion animations. They will create their artworks using paint, stencils and found, wooden offcuts and then photograph in sequences using iPads. The images will then be played back as short animations. The workshop will provide students with an introduction to stop-motion animation as well as assemblage, collage and wordplay techniques.
The regional workshop program is delivered as part of the ongoing partnership with Glencore through the Glencore Queensland Artists' Gallery program as part of the exhibition 'Madonna Staunton: Out of a Clear Blue Sky', 30 August 2014 – 1 March 2015 at the Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane.
