Delve deeper into QAGOMA exhibitions and displays in this virtual event for Members! Gordon Bennett (1955–2014) made a profound and ongoing contribution to contemporary art in Australia and internationally. Born in Queensland, his practice is significant for its engagement with questions of identity, perception and the construction of history, and how these inform social and cultural conditions. Join co-curators Zara Stanhope (Curatorial Manager, Asian and Pacific Art) and Abigail Bernal (Assistant Curator International Art) for an introduction to this large-scale exhibition of Bennett’s oeuvre, featuring works that have never or rarely been seen as well as his most admired and important paintings. Working closely with the artist’s estate, ‘Unfinished Business' offers new insights into Bennett’s practice and process.
