Melbourne born, LA based artist and producer, BANOFFEE represents the new wave of mutant pop bubbling up from the queer club underground. Her new wave, R’n’B, electronic pop is heightened with gliding synths, syncopated beats and textured vocals. Banoffee’s debut album, Look At Us Now Dad (2020) is an uplifting, optimistic journey that celebrates survival in the face of abuse and adversity.

Lisa is renowned for her beguiling melodies and hushed tones whether playing crystal pure folk such as in the sublime ‘Pirouette’, or wrapped-up in subtle electro beats such as 2016’s ‘The Boys’, or the always-popular ‘Coin Laundry’.

After crash-landing into the music industry while still at school, Lisa has gone on to release 4 albums and 3 EPs garnering top ten ARIA accreditations and multiple ARIA award nominations, winning the Australian Music Prize for her debut ‘Wonder’ and spots at all major festivals across Australia and multiple international tours including playing Glastonbury.

THE RIOT are a three-piece from the Gold Coast, merging rap and hardcore with anthems for the oppressed and overlooked.Since launching in 2019, THE RIOT have received praise from the likes of Blunt Magazine and NME, plus airplay support from triple j, 4ZZZ, FBi Radio and The Faction. Known for their electrifying live performances, THE RIOT have previously supported DMA'S, WAAX and Nerve.

Australian songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Nai Palm is the co-founder of multi-Grammy nominated indie quartet Hiatus Kaiyote. Based in Melbourne, her songs blend jazz, hip-hop, and neo-soul with a unique mesmerizing vocal sound. Hiatus Kaiyote’s songs have been sampled by the likes of Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Anderson Paak. Nai Palm featured and collaborated on the song ‘More Than a Woman’ on Drake’s album Scorpion. In 2017, she released her debut solo album Needle Paw, which features stripped down original tracks, collaborations and covers.

Panayiota Kalatzis

Greek/Australia soprano Panayiota Kalatzis is graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium with Bachelor of Music in Classical voice and a Masters in Music Studies in Opera. In 2013 Panayiota was a Dame Nellie Melba scholar in Victoria and in 2014 she won the Australian International Opera Award to study a Master in Wales, Cardiff. After her return from Cardiff Panayiota won Australia’s prestigious Opera award The Herald Sun Aria (2016). Panayiota has performed extensively on the stage and on a concert platform all over Australia and internationally. Since covid, Panayiota has taken on a different role as a singing teacher, inspiring the next generation of singers from musical theatre, jazz, pop to classical. She performs as soloist and regularly performs with ‘The 7 Sopranos’. Panayiota has also added another role to her title, as a new mum to her beautiful daughter, Aria.

George Bousias

George (Yiorgo in Greek) Bousias is an internationally acclaimed Bouzouki musician who began his musical journey from the age of 15 years old, performing frequently at The Greek Club in Brisbane. He has worked with world famous singers, artists and musicians throughout his career in Australia and overseas. In 2011 George combined forces with Avra Velis and released a CD with titled Avra and Yiorgo.Throughout his musical journey, George has developed a unique style of playing which incorporates Greek folk/popular/classical with popular western and world music styles, however traditional Bouzouki music is his speciality.

eX de Medici was a tattoo artist for a number of years at the start of her career and has designed six tattoos for you to choose from, including a seahorse, skull and tiger.

Up Late is not a regular gig, it is an immersive experience that spans outside and indoors spaces at GOMA.

  • There is space to spread out inside and outside, with live music under the Maiwar Green marquee for fresh air and space to move
  • Capacity on both nights of Up Late is limited

  • The outdoor Maiwar Green stage features amplified music. There are more quieter spaces inside the Gallery
  • GOMA and the Maiwar Green stage are wheelchair accessible

  • Up Late will go ahead rain, hail or shine
