About
The debut novel of Brisbane writer Ben Hobson, To Become a Whale tells the story of Sam, a young boy who loses his mother and subsequently moves with his father to a whaling station at Tangalooma. In this hyper-masculine and brutal environment, Sam struggles with the cruelty that surrounds him as he transitions into manhood.
