Join Triennial artist, Ruhina Rajik Muhaimer, for a talk about her weaving of Siyabit textiles, a multigenerational weaving practice of the Tausug people in the Sulu Province in the Philippines.

Through their Accelerate Bangsamoro project, The Asia Foundation have supported the travel of Asia Pacific Triennial artist Ruhina Muhaimer (Tausug people, The Philippines). For the Event Day on 6 April Muhaimer will present an artist talk on her pis syabit, Tausug woven textiles made in the Sulu Archipelago, Mindanao. Accelerate Bangsamoro is implemented in partnership with the Australian Embassy in the Philippines. It creates opportunities for women through livelihood support and promotion of indigenous art, promoting lasting peace, security, and economic empowerment in the region.
