About
In mid-thirties Paris, Julie Andrews stars as a cabaret singer who develops an act where she masquerades as a man in drag. A visiting gangster is puzzled to find himself attracted to Victor/Victoria. Based on a 1930s German screenplay (Victor and Victoria 1933 also in the ‘Life’s a Drag’ program), Blake Edwards' cross-dressing musical tackles sexuality and gender with a sweet generosity of spirit and endearing warmth.
