Engaging and resourceful Abbas (Eriq Ebouaney) is father to two school-age children in Paris. The three have fled the Central African Republic’s civil war and hope to build a new life. Abbas, previously a language teacher and now lugging vegetable boxes in an open-air market, is plagued by night-time intrusions of his past. He has found new love with his employer, the practical yet sensual Carole (Sandrine Bonnaire).
