About
The year is 2084. Plagued by dreams of the red planet, construction worker Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger) decides to take the trip of a lifetime – an implanted false memory of high-stakes Martian adventure. However, things don’t go as planned, and the operation exposes Quaid’s true identity as Hauser, a double agent in an interplanetary conspiracy. Fighting alongside Mars’s mutant rebel factions, Quaid must uncover the true nature of his identity and the secrets buried at the planet’s core: an ancient alien technology capable of literally breathing new life into Mars.
Based on the short story 'We Can Remember It for You Wholesale' by Philip K Dick, and widely considered a classic of early 90s sci-fi/action cinema, Paul Verhoeven’s mind-bending and body-melting blockbuster is an apposite critique of memory, identity, and apartheid delivered with the director’s characteristic excess.
