About
‘At the height of his skyrocketing star power, Carrey decided to take on a project that would require him to tone down his usual bombastic comedy for a more subtle and curious role as Truman Burbank. Truman is your typical suburban working man who sticks to his routines and rituals that make up his little bubble of a world. But things start to unravel as he slowly starts to piece together that the world he has grown to know may not be what it seems. The Truman Show is a very smart and satirical look at our obsession with the television medium and the idea of "reality" TV. Coming three years after the OJ Simpson trial, the events that unfold over Truman's life captivate his audience all the way till the very gratifying end, or shall we say, the beginning of his life.’ Alamo Drafthouse Cinema
