About
An adaptation of the novel by doyen of the legal thriller John Grisham, The Firm is a gripping probe into the dark possibilities of blind ambition. When Harvard graduate Mitch McDeere (Tom Cruise) accepts a job offer from a prestigious Tennessee law firm, he is absorbed into the lucrative but all-consuming culture of the firm, guided by his mentor Avery Tolar (Gene Hackman). As he becomes further entrenched, Mitch begins to realise the moral rot and potential danger at the core of the operation. John Seale’s rich lensing captures both the allure of the newfound life of luxury and the sinister world that hides behind it.
