A warm-hearted and gentle fictional feature film that explores aging, human connection and companionship through the real stories of the women on screen. A busload of elderly women breakdown on a backroad in a remote country location. Faced with spending the night out in the cold they look for shelter, making the best of an abandoned house in a field nearby. They share what food they have (an orange, apple, a few biscuits), make beds out of grass they harvest and old sheets found in the house, looking after one another with good humour and a sense of adventure. Each of the women come from different backgrounds and play versions of themselves on screen including: Alice Diabo as Alice, 74, a Mohawk elder from Kahnawake, Quebec, Mary Meigs is Mary, 74, a feminist writer, painter and out lesbian, Michelle Sweeney is Michelle, 27, a jazz singer and bus driver and Beth Webber, 80, is Beth who was born in England and moved to Montreal. As they try to fix the bus and then attempt to find help, they share their stories with one another.
