About
Overcome with worry about his missing pet mouse, schoolboy John (Mark Dightam) is horrified when he inexplicably turns yellow! Perhaps it has something to do with the mysterious Nick (Robert Eddison), who emerged from John’s television, and happily takes the incredulous boy on a search through the electromagnetic spectrum for his precious pet. Simplicity is beauty in this charming, low budget sci-fi picture made for the Children’s Film Foundation. Using the Tower of London as a key location, The Boy Who Turned Yellow never ceases to surprise and endear with its high concept miraculously realised through lo-fi endeavours, revealing a deep faith in the powers of storytelling and the bedrock of cinematic legacy.
The Boy Who Turned Yellow will screen from an imported 35mm print.
