A new addition to the 'This Land' film program, Tanna 2015 has recently been nominated for an Oscar in the 2017 Academy Awards. Competing in the Best Foreign Language Film category, the film premiered at the 2015 Venice Film Festival where it won two awards: Best Cinematographer and the Audience Award as part of International Critic's Week. A story of star crossed lovers whose attraction contravenes Kastom (traditional law), Tanna is co-directed by Bentley Dean and Martin Butler who produced the film in close collaboration with the Yakel people of Tanna, Vanuatu.
