About
The debut feature of Welsh filmmaker Scott Barley, Sleep Has Her House is a grand elemental poem. It is a film that expresses the sublime through a meticulously crafted soundscape and the painting of light and darkness. It exists amidst woods, valleys, and waterfalls; nature is depicted as a canvas so vast that it becomes infinite and otherworldly. Shot primarily on an iPhone, Barley superimposed together layers of digital footage and hand drawn images to create the film’s extraordinary aesthetic, crafting a world in which fog-drenched gloaming is replaced by the terrible violence of a storm. An immersive cinematic vision from one of the most exciting filmmakers to emerge from the United Kingdom in the past decade.
Please note: this film contains a scene featuring strobe effects.
