About
After the death of his father, selfish wheeler-dealer Charlie (Tom Cruise) discovers that he has an older brother whom he has never met. He tracks down his newfound older brother Raymond (Dustin Hoffman), who is neurodiverse and has lived his life in a psychiatric institution. Hoping to gain custody of his brother in order to secure his father’s estate, Charlie sets out across the country with Raymond on a road trip that will change both their lives. Winner of four Academy Awards – including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Actor for Hoffman – and recipient of a Best Cinematography nomination for John Seale, Rain Man is a moving story of familial connection.
