About
Set against the backdrop of a fight to reclaim ancestral land, Putuparri and the Rainmakers focuses on the awakening of sacred relationships between people and place. It begins with Tom 'Putuparri' Lawford's trip to his ancestral country with traditional rainmakers of Australia's Great Sandy Desert. During the next 10 years, the documentary charts Lawford's struggle with the burden and blessing of being chosen as a custodian of culture and traditional law.
