About
In a culture where rice is essential to every meal, Thai director Uruphong Raksasad chronicles the tradition, ritual and festivities that surround rice farming and harvesting. The documentary is a celebration itself, delighting in the rites of the farming community and the imagery of the land. Raksasad fills the screen with pictures of people hula-hooping in a rice field at sundown, fireworks shooting into the air and songs of praise for rice are sung.
