About
Dealing with addiction and existential listlessness, the nomadic Rosario ambles throughout Australia. He bonds with two young folk musicians, Kate and Ella, with whom he travels to his native Italy on an opaque spiritual pilgrimage. Directed by Brisbane filmmaker Adam Briggs, Paris Funeral, 1972 is an entrancing look at the everlasting search for human connection. The film was shot on 16mm by cinematographer Adric Watson, whose careful eye shapes this drifting portrait and captures both the joy and melancholy of the journey. Featuring a cast composed of non-professionals playing fictionalised versions of themselves, the sensitive story flows out of improvised dialogue and organic moments of humanity.
