About
Palazzo di Cozzo is a captivating portrait of furniture mogul Franco Cozzo. Emigrating from Sicily to Australia in the 1950s, Cozzo became a household name in Melbourne through his pioneering multilingual television ads, broadcast in English, Italian and Greek. Filmmaker Madeleine Martiniello thoughtfully captures the multifaceted figure in this documentary that explores Australian kitsch, migrant experiences, and the shifting aesthetics of the late twentieth century. Martiniello brings to life the inherently cinematic qualities of the baroque furniture while finding pathos in the reflections of a former titan at the end of his career.
