The Lost Jewels is restored as a separate film and will screen directly after.
Three Daughters is a trilogy of short films made as a tribute to a highly influential figure in Satyajit Ray's life and work – the Bengali polymath Rabindranath Tagore - in the centenary of his birth in 1961. Based on three short stories by Tagore Three Daughters consists of: The Postmaster, Monihara (The Lost Jewels) and Samapti (The Conclusion).
The Lost Jewels is a ghost story centring on a lonely wife who cannot return her husband's love and is instead obsessed with her jewellery and ornaments.
