Taiwanese cinematographer Mark Lee-Ping Bin (In the Mood for Love) mounts his camera on a scooter in the bustling streets of Kathmandu and trains it on the colourful details of fluttering prayer flags and crimson dried chillies as he follows Tenzin’s haphazard quest to break the curse. Directed by the Nepalese lama Khyentse Norbu (The Cup 1999), this quirky film reveals the enchantment of everyday life – as present within the dynamic modern milieu as it is within ancient customs or the peaceful majesty of mountains and temples.
