About
Lon Chaney gives one of the great performances of silent horror cinema in this classic adaptation of Gaston Leroux's beloved novel.
A mysterious figure haunts the corridors of the Paris Opera House. Known as 'The Phantom', he terrorises the opera company and demands that the rising star Christine Daaé be given the lead role in their latest production. As The Phantom's love becomes more obsessive, the danger to Christine only grows more deadly.
This sumptuous classic of silent cinema remains one of horror cinema's grandest accomplishments. Lon Chaney's self-designed make-up and iconic performance as The Phantom further bolstered his reputation as 'The Man of a Thousand Faces', creating an unforgettably ghastly creation for the ages.
