About
Celebrated German-French filmmaker Max Ophüls delivers a delightfully captivating supernatural romantic-comedy with The Tender Enemy. At the wedding of a young woman, two ghosts arrive to watch over the proceedings. One is the dead husband of the bride's mother and the other: her deceased lion tamer lover. When a third ghost arrives to announce himself as her first and only true love, they realise that they must intervene in the wedding to make sure the bride ends up with the man closest to her heart. Lyrically crafted with the spellbinding sense of visual movement that made Ophüls so renowned, The Tender Enemy is an entrancing and charming comedy.
