About
'Police officer Takabe is investigating a series of murders in which the victims are found with a cross carved into their bodies. Sounds standard, but here's the twist: The killer is different every time. Usually it is a friend or family member who lacks a psycho-killer profile or even a good motive and has no recollection of the crime—so that puts an end to the serial killer theory... or does it? Kurosawa pairs up with psychologist Sakumata to try to find the real "killer." Kurosawa's film is all the more disturbing because of its acute vision of a world that has let its old guides—religion, tradition, even strongly felt political ideologies—fall by the wayside, setting the stage for a charismatic to move "sane" people to commit the most heinous acts.'
