About
A comedic twist on the heist-drama, Miranda July’s third feature film, Kajillionaire, combines July’s ability to find eccentricity in the everyday with a tender portrait of a dysfunctional family, to create a highly original coming-of-age film.
In the downtown suburbs of Los Angeles, Robert (Richard Jenkins), Theresa (Debra Winger) and their daughter, Old Dolio (Evan Rachel Wood), are a family of con artists whose elaborate small-time scams and unrelenting drive enable them to live life off the grid. When an outsider (Gina Rodriguez) is invited into the Dyne family unit to help with their latest fraudulent scheme, Old Dolio begins to measure her life against a platonic ideal of family and childhood, setting her on a journey of social awakening and self-discovery.
