About
War veteran Paul von Pryzgodski (David Bowie) takes on a new career wining and dining the bourgeoisie elite in David Hemming’s 1970s historical melodrama Just a Gigolo.
After returning home to Berlin following World War I, Paul von Pryzgodski, struggles to find employment and a greater sense of purpose. After relentlessly moving from job to job, Paul stumbles across an off-beat occupation as company for wealthy war widows.
Playing off his magnetic star-quality, Bowie delivers a charismatic performance as the dashing young escort and stars alongside a knock-out cast that importantly includes Marlene Dietrich, an iconic cinematic figure whose early on-screen appearances influenced the cover artwork for Bowie's 1971 'Hunky Dory' album.
