About
Humankind’s attempt to meddle in the affairs of evolution takes a terrifying turn in director Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Michael Crichton’s novel, ‘Jurassic Park’. Wealthy entrepreneur Dr John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) has secretly bio-engineered a theme park of previously-extinct dinosaurs, inviting palaeontologists Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) for an exclusive tour of the park, before its public opening. However, the preview turns disastrous, after an inside-sabotage of the facility turns the park’s security systems offline, with all of the dinosaurs escaping the enclosure, threatening the scientists' lives. Incredible life-sized animatronics, realistic audio and computer-generated imagery of the towering dinosaurs are remarkable, with John Williams' memorable score adding to the wonder and horror of the manufactured specimens. Notably Jurassic Park stands as Steven Spielberg’s most successful film at the box office. This cautionary tale of survival against an experiment-gone-wrong stands the test of time, in an adventure 65 million years in the making.
