About
Founded in 2002 by Anjalika Sagar and Kodwo Eshun, the work of The Otolith Group includes curating, programming, publishing and filmmaking, and is underpinned by an ongoing exploration of the relationships between contemporary art theory, practice and exhibition.
INFINITY Minus Infinity, the latest experimental film directed by the group, combines dance, performance, music, recital, and digital animation to imagine a transhistorical black feminist cosmos fueled by poetic and philosophical writings from Brazilian philosopher Denise Ferreira da Silva, Jamaican poet Una Marso, philosopher and poet Édouard Glissant and British geographer Kathryn Yusoff.
Told by a futuristic chorus of transtemporal deities, the central narrative of INFINITY Minus Infinity creatively confronts the past trauma of imperial capitalism, the current anxiety surrounding climate change and future dread relating to the British Capitalioscene, inviting audiences to reflect upon the limits of past histories and the future possibilities that lie beyond them.
