About
A well-crafted tale of three Afghan women from different walks of life – Hava, Maryam and Ayesha – who must find the resilience to master their fate. Hava is little more than a servant to her husband and in-laws. Her joy comes from talking to the baby growing in her belly. Maryam, a well-known and educated TV presenter, comes up against the limits of her power in the face of a conservative society. Teenage and unwed Ayesha must grapple with the news that she is pregnant. The film presents a rare and immediate insider’s view into the lives of Afghani women by writer-director Sahraa Karimi and is the first independent film shot in Kabul with the director and actors living in Afghanistan.
