Commissioned to celebrate her 90th birthday, Georgia O'Keeffe 1977 is the only film portrait of the artist allowed to be made during her lifetime. Shot on location in New Mexico, it documents O'Keeffe at her studio and at home in Abiquiu near Santa Fe. In the film, she talks candidly about her life and work, including her marriage to photographer Alfred Stieglitz.
This extraordinary documentary, directed by Perry Miller Adato, screens in the Queensland Art Gallery Lecture Theatre at 11.00am every Saturday and Sunday during the exhibition.
