In this delightful portrait of Bratislava, director Barbora Sliepková crafts a loving tribute to the city surrounds, its idiosyncratic inhabitants and their beloved pets. Sliepková playfully supposes that when you look at a city – its built environment and the people who populate it – are we not all just a collection of lines? The post-socialist city and capital of Slovakia is a hive of construction replacing old with new. Meanwhile, we follow the daily machinations of its people as they struggle with loneliness, buy homes, vote for politicians, sing in the street and dream of their futures.
