About
Returning to his sleepy hometown of Lumberton to assist his ailing father, college student Jeffrey Beaumont (Kyle MacLachlan) gets more than he bargained for when a grisly discovery in an abandoned lot brings him into contact with the beautiful but troubled lounge singer, Dorothy Vallens (Isabella Rossellini). Their liaison leads Jeffrey into deadly confrontation with the town’s seamy underbelly, steered by the deranged, gas-huffing criminal Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper).
A harrowing, yet blackly comic, dismantling of American idyll, David Lynch’s sensual and subversive masterpiece helped establish its director as one of the most outré voices in contemporary cinema.
Please note: this film contains scenes of sexual violence.
