About
The year is 1976 and Gilderoy (Toby Jones), a reserved English documentary sound engineer, finds himself employed by a notorious low-budget Italian studio and recording the sound for the horror film ‘The Equestrian Vortex’. Alienated by his environment and cut off from the world by the studio, he throws himself into his work, failing to notice how life is slowly beginning to imitate art. A tribute to the possibilities of sound, the giallo cinema of Suspiria, The Case of the Scorpion’s Tale, and Blood and Black Lace, and in its atmosphere and Moebius Loop structure, one the few films deserving of its Lynchian status.
