A film crew arrives in a remote village in Iranian Kurdistan to record the mourning rituals and burial ceremony of an elderly woman. The woman, however, has not yet died and the crew restlessly waits to capture the moment. A gently humorous film that sees its protagonist emotionally transformed by the landscape and pace of village life. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the 1999 Venice Film Festival.
