About
Inspired by a term used in Sufism describing a continuity of spiritual presence, Baraka is an almost wordless film that documents the beauty and destruction of nature and humanity. First-time director Ron Fricke's previous experience as a cinematographer plays out in the meticulously composed and visually sumptuous images captured around the world, from whirling dervishes moving in unison to the majesty of Angkor Wat at sunrise.
