About
Striking a balance between the original theatrical cut and the controversial Redux, the 'Final Cut' is Coppola’s last word on Apocalypse Now. Adapting Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness', Coppola dives into the conflagration of the Vietnam War with this spectacular epic. Martin Sheen's Captain Willard is sent up the Mekong River in search of the enigmatic Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando), who has gone rogue and set up his own stronghold down river. What follows is a nightmarish, at times psychedelic, descent into the madness of war.
