Amid a fierce gale, a young boy in a model aircraft departs from his native Netherlands to the faraway China. Here, as an elderly filmmaker enamoured of the region’s mythologies, Joris Ivens embarks upon a unique pilgrimage with his production crew – a quixotic journey “to capture the invisible wind”.
