By bequeathing art works, financial assistance or property to the Queensland Art Gallery, benefactors can directly contribute to the expansion and development of the Gallery’s Collection and programs, ensuring that Queenslanders of all ages will benefit from their generosity now and in the future.
Bequests to the Gallery are managed through the Queensland Art Gallery Foundation. By making a bequest to the Gallery of more than $2000, benefactors are entitled to join the Queensland Art Gallery Foundation and participate in its exclusive program of events.
When a sum of money is bequeathed to the Gallery through the Foundation, half of the amount specified is honoured as an immediate gift entitling appropriate Foundation membership. Significant gifts are acknowledged in perpetuity on the Gallery’s Donor Boards.
The Foundation aims to build lasting relationships with its donors. Individuals considering making a bequest are invited to discuss their intentions with us so that we can thank them personally. This will ensure their specific wishes are understood and allow them to be acknowledged now. Any inquiries made regarding bequests will be treated with appropriate confidentiality.
