Looking for Marcel 2005
These photographs were taken at different locations around Port Dickson. The title is a playful reference to Marcel Broodthaers, the Belgian conceptual artist, filmmaker and poet who worked regularly with found objects and language. The photograph of the table setting relocates to the tropics a still from Broodthaers’s 1974 film Berlin, or a Dream with Cream, which featured a sight gag of the artist sitting at a table reading the newspaper with his glasses smeared with whipped cream.
